About Us

The Brunei Energy Association was formed in 2002 primarily to assist in facilitating GASEX 2002, an international event hosted that year in Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Over the years, the Brunei Energy Association (BEnA) has been active in the actualization of its objectives through activities and organized events.

BEnA plays a major role especially in the development of the energy industry and in disseminating and giving emphasis in energy conservation and efficiency to our people.

BEnA will be responsive in the call to participate in the preservation, conservation and efficient use of energy. For example a current challenge is the alarming trend in the level of national electricity energy consumption, which is now equal to the consumption levels in highly developed nations such as Japan, Singapore and Taiwan. This is indeed a startling figure for Brunei Darussalam especially considering that the main consumers are residential rather than industrial users.

The practice of energy conservation and efficiency is very important element in the continuing the progress of our nation. BEnA will continue to pursue this objective through educating the population on the benefits of conserving energy and the dangers of excessive and wasteful usage of it. We will promote the importance of a low-energy consuming lifestyle.

By doing so, we will ensure our future generations will be able to enjoy the gift of bountiful energy resources that are readily available.

We believe the people in BEnA have the right mindsets and behaviour for the pursuit of its goals and in promoting effective energy conservation and identifying energy efficiency opportunities as well as the use of renewable energy in Brunei Darussalam.
